Best Majors at Columbia?

<p>What are the "best" and most popular majors at Columbia? By best I guess I mean the ones that students feel best prepared them for their future, gave them the most advantage post graduation with the most scope in their field.</p>

<p>How is the Environmental Studies and Sustainability Program? Are there are lot of study and research options and range? Or is it much harder since it's in the city?</p>

<p>by your definition of best, then there are very few departments that do not fit your criteria, though i can’t speak for the actual curricula of the majors. columbia’s geosciences, and sustinable development work is highly regarded. for an urban university, the geology program is consistently ranked in the top 5, which is telling about how columbia expands and uses resources beyond nyc.</p>
