Pretty self explanatory... I will be at Vanderbilt next fall, just wondering what Vandy's best majors are??

Any major works for pre-law, as long as you maintain a high GPA.

That said, both Classics and Religion are phenomenal at Vanderbilt.

Do yourself a favor and major in something useful. A lot of law students were lib arts students which is okay but if you get a lib arts degree then you’ll almost have to go to law school.

Study what you are interested in.

I know very successful lawyers with undergraduate degrees in natural sciences, math, economics, political science, even engineering.

I also know an economist who is hired by various states to teach their high-priced, Ivy-educated assistant A.G.s basic statistics and economics so they can understand the evidence of big cases. The world needs lawyers with some technical training, so if you are good at that sort of thing, and interested in it, give it some thought.

Vanderbilt is a very good school. There are plenty of majors to choose from.

yea i want to major in something “useful.” It was a tough call to turn down USC’s Marshall Biz school, but I like Vandy better. I am willing to sacrifice a biz degree for an econ or poli sci at vandy. ur thoughts…?

anyone…?

Most law schools say they don’t look for a specific major. Especially since there aren’t any major requirements (such as med or dental school) you should major in whatever you want. It would be helpful to take electives such as Constitutional Law or some other law courses.

thanks a lot
