I speak spanish and french fluently and i’m overall a very solid student. I hate math, but really enjoy any other subject. I have no idea what I want to major in, but I think I should do something that pairs with my spanish and french. I initially wanted to major in international relations but have since reconsidered. I’m also considering global business as it would probably very profitable economically, but I really don’t think I would enjoy that. What are some other careers/majors that I would have an edge in for speaking many languages?
How bout high school foreign language teacher? Where I am, there is a shortage of these teachers. Spanish and French would be very good subjects if you have ny inclination to teach.
Engineering & Management. Bilingual engineers command a salary premium because of there ability to communicate with Spanish speaking workers.
If the OP doesn’t like math…I’m guessing engineering would not be a good major choice.
Being bilingual is good in a lot of fields. As an architect with a big Hispanic clientele I wish I knew some Spanish. Intelligence is another obvious field - you don’t have to study “intelligence” as an undergrad, majors like history, international relations, economics, even comparative literature could provide a reasonable background. I always wished I’d taken some Linguistics courses.
Customs and Border Patrol agent.
Linguistics
All of them.
Why did you change your mind about IR?
Why not try a culture-based double major like at Dickinson alongside a management concentration?
Or the CIFA track at USC Columbia, where you study part in France part in the US?
Do you like politics?
