Hi guys! I was wondering if a course seemed to work best for SAT prep, or if it was a self-taught thing, or one/many prep books. I know that it depends on me, but I want to know what has most helped CC users in the past. Thanks!

for me, it was all self-teaching. I took it once without studying at all to see my strengths and weaknesses. And then I practiced a lot to correct them.

There is no “studying” for the SAT, it’s basically just “practicing”. Get a bunch of practice tests (the official collegeboard bluebook has 10). There’s an online course with another 10, and you can find a bunch more online (but only do OFFICIAL tests!). Then, after you go through a practice test, you have to go over every question, not just the ones you got wrong.

I ended up bringing my score from a 1980 to a 2330 doing this.

For writing section specifically I recommend this source:

Hope it helps

Also this source will provide you with near unlimited essay topics.

I believe somewhere on CC there is an excellent guide to doing the essay. I followed it and I felt really good about my most recent essay. (Haven’t gotten it back but I expect 10-12)

set yourself up in the exact same environment as the test and take it, i did that once a week leading up to the test and did well
