I’m preparing for the exam in October, but a bit lost as to the best method for studying. I am in Calc B.C. but it seems that a lot of topics shown here are relatively new to me. Any tips?
Try the Barron’s Math2 practice. It would make you cry going through the 6 practices, but it will get you good score. If you get 700+ in the last practice, you should be able to get 800 in the real test.
I took the Math SAT II while in Calc BC as well; there’s no calculus on the exam, but some calculus tricks can be applied…such as L’Hospital’s rule for limits.
I suggest getting Dr Chung’s book for SAT Math II…it really drills you on the concepts and definitely overprepares you. If you could buy one book, it would be that since you’re in Calc already…but I hear Barron’s is good too. Just DO NOT use Kaplan alone…I used it the first time and did horribly. Also use the CollegeBoard book so you can have the 1 or 2 real exams; that really helps put things into perspective.
It’s hard to predict the amount of time needed to study (everyone has different schedules, previous knowledge levels, and study habits), but I’d say anywhere from 2-6 weeks should be good for someone advanced in math like you!
Good luck!
As stated above, the best and in my opinion only book that should be used is Dr. Chung’s bookf or SAT Math 2. It is honestly so relevant and helpful for getting an 800.
So just go through the whole book?
