was she's the man '06?

I had high expectations for Little Miss Sunshine (I love Steve Carrell and convinced all my friends to watch it instead of Snakes on a Plane) but was left a little disappointed. Acting and characters were all great (the family was quirky and all), but I kept trying to find funny things to laugh at like the grandpa and the porn magazine scene...and of course the end.

But besides that, it wasn't even close to the best comedy I've seen and it wasn't really as dramatic as I expected either, just another dysfunctional family movie that came together a little in the end. So as much as I wanted it to be the best movie of the year, it ended up just as a good comedy/drama in my eyes.

step up and stick it
heck yes

wow.
just watched dream girls.
beyonce was great.
but WHY would no one tell me that it's a MUSICAL!?

Click- I was expecting it to be really funny, but instead it made me cry! But it was a really great movie.

i loved the departed, loved devil wears prada, loved little miss sunshine.
i thought hollywoodland was really solid, notes on a scandal.

(sunshinegirl- click made me cry too!)

Didn't get a chance to see Departed, Prestige, Borat, or Little Miss Sunshine (PATHETIC, I KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW) but all of them looked awesome

I loved An Inconvenient Truth and Thank You For Smoking.

Surprise movie for me: Snakes on a Plane. Seriously, better than I thought.
Worst: Lady in the Water (omg omg what the heck was that?!)

Letters from Iwo Jima/ Flags of our Fathers

Strange how no one mentioned Pirates, which was probably the most hyped movie of the year.

Considering Americans only, it would be between Babel, The Departed, and Queen. Borat was quite good as well.

Just take a look at the Cannes results. Those are generally very good, unlike the results at the Oscars.

Yeah The Queen was excellent. It's going to win some sort of Oscar.

Who are we kidding....

Borat no question =)

I thought Borat was too over-hyped.

Pursuit of Happyness
Stick It
Borat
Step Up
Jesus Camp

Those were my favorites.

The Departed, Little Miss Sunshine, Blood Diamond

didnt watch too many movies this yr, but i've heard borat was awesome. i'm gonna watch it when it comes out on dvd

Please, Clint Eastwood films are overrated, and tend to get attention from emotionally sensitive viewers.

The Departed, best film by far. Top 10 in my list since 2000.

Oh, The Queen was BEAUTIFUL. Wonderful, subtle, and compelling... I couldn't rave enough about it.

Little Miss Sunshine!!!!!
Dreamgirls, only for Jennifer Hudson. Beyonce didn't even have a part, really, she must of had like maybe 30 speaking lines. maybe. Jennifer Hudson was amazing. Jaime Foxx and Eddie Murphy were also wonderful. And Jennifer Hudson's brother (in the movie) and the agent were good.
The Departed was... long. But really good

Yay! That movie was amazing.

However, I expected similar quality from "The Good Shepherd." I was a bit disappointed.

Blood Diamond and The Departed.

The Good Shepherd was completely disappointing. They make it look like an action movie in the previews. I wanted to fall asleep the whole time.
