I am currently a sophomore in Electrical Engineering at a SUNY school, I love electrical engineering in pretty much every aspect, but I think that my main interest is in power engineering. What are the best northeast power engineering schools? What about in New York? Some schools near me are Syracuse, Binghamton, University at Buffalo, and Cornell. Are any of these good power engineering schools? Also aren't there 2 types of engineering masters degrees? I heard that there is a more research based masters and one more for applying your skills towards the industry. I ask because I have a good gpa (3.8) but it seems that a lot of students at my school have a hard time getting into research so I imagine that the former would be more difficult to get into with limited research experiences. Thanks for any input!
