Best of ACT vs SAT?

During the admission process do they use the higher of the two (SAT, ACT) to calculate your admission? In other words, if you bombed one of the two tests but did well on the other do they use the better one? I know they superscore each one individually, but do they then use the highest one foe admission?

I called admissions and asked. They take the highest from either test ACT and SAT. Depending on your scores, could be all ACT scores, all SAT scores, or a combo of both scores…sort of like a super, superscore!

pinemtnmama: i very highly doubt they do that. i think they just superscore each test then take best one.

FutureENTsurgeon… pinemtnmama just called the admission, so i’m guessing he’s right.
I hope it is… it will make my so called “superscore” look great. ahah

Just to confirm…I talked to admissions yesterday, it is the best combination of your scores…be that all one test ie. SAT or ACT, or the best combo of the two.

so your saying that if i got a 500 on the CR sat, 800 on the math SAT AND then a 36 act reading and 20 on the act math. Then they would them superscore to 800 SAT math and 36 act reading? im just saying because what about the two other sections on the ACT how can they superscore from each test then leave those out? you might as well just take the act with Reading and Math only.

i will call them today

I’ve never heard of superscoring like that, although I would welcome it. DS got an 800 on SAT1 CR and a 36 on ACT math. That would make a converted 1600/1600 SAT1.
It kind of doesn’t make sense because colleges report their admission statistics as ACT scores and SAT scores, but not converted/combined ACT/SAT scores. I think the admissions office is mixed up.
