What are the best UNDERGRADUATE schools for political science?

Cannot be determined

Georgetown, American, George Washington are good, especially because of internships and such.

anyone else?

northwestern, georgetown, gw, columbia, dartmouth instantly come to mind.

well i hear from some guy that harvard is pretty good ... but what arent they good at.

Political Science is a pretty straight forward subject. Most good universities have excellent Political Science programs. What are your stats? It would be pointless to recommend Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford and Yale (all of which have top Political Science departments) if you are a 3.3 student with low standardized test scores. But here are some good Political Science departments:

Columbia University
Cornell University
Duke University
Harvard University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Princeton University
University of California-Berkeley
University of California-Los Angeles
University of California-San Diego
University of Chicago
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
University of Rochester
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Washington University-St Louis
Yale University

Some excellent departments aren't really large but still very well respected:
Amherst College
Carleton College
Claremont McKenna
Dartmouth College
Haverford College
Macalester College
Middlebury College
Swarthmore College
Williams College

Please keep in mind that those are just a few of the many good choices. Other universities may not be as strong or as recognized in the field of Political Science, but they will still have excellent offerings.

I got a 2110 on the SAT (1st time, as a junior),my ACT is 32, my ECs are strong, and my GPA is ~3.8 with 10 APs and 8 honors classes.

It's surprising, but I've seen surveys that place Ohio State University's political science department in the fourth of fifth best for undergraduate.

Add Virginia to those lists. Big time history, big time connections.

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach

nope im from georgia. thanks though.

yougotjohn, only one ranking has OSU ranked in the top 5 in Political Science...the LSE ranking, which, like all rankings published by one university, is severely flawed. Still, OSU is definitely jas an excellent PS department...but not top 5 in the US.

What about Johns Hopkins? I mean the word "Political Science" was coined by a professor there. That has to say something.

Johns Hopkins, like Tufts and Georgetown, is amazing in International Relations but not that strong in Political Science.

Anyone else?

What about Northwestern? I know it's not the best, but considering I want political science AND journalism, would y'all say it's the best bet?

Northwestern would be perfect if you wish to double major in Journalism and Poli-Sci. However, be sure that the University will allow such a double major. I am pretty sure it will, but you should check.

I don't know why they wouldn't allow that, those two subjects tie together very well, with all the political journalism out there, but I will definatley look into that, thanks for the info.
