Best pre-med schools in the country?

^ My honest opinion about these programs is that some of them are excellent and some of them it can be a compromise. I’ve heard of people turning down Ivies for say, Union/Albany. Which, for the spot in medical school with a minimum 3.5 gpa and no MCAT can be a good or bad deal depending on the way you look at it. Going to Union and then AMC aren’t cheap and you might sacrifice some aspects of fit for the sake of a guaranteed spot.

If you look at programs like SBU/GWU, the students that apply to the program would never go to SBU (St. Bonaventure U) alone, but they would if all they need to do is have a 3.0 and community service to have a spot at GW’s med school. Then there are programs like Rice/Baylor where you really can’t go wrong going to at all, but getting in is a complete crapshoot.

Although Hopkins may be a tougher grader than some other schools, med schools know that Hopkins pre-med students are VERY well prepared. Hopkins has top grad schools in public health and medicine and it definitely carries over into the undergrad program.
