What is the best prep book for subject test Chemistry? Barron's or Princeton Review?

I have both as I’m self studying Chemistry and I find that I enjoy the topic. Also I watch the videos on [Khan Academy](http://www.khanacademy.org) to get a thorough understanding of the topic at hand and then review using the review books. I feel this will give me a strong enough background to score an 800 on the SAT chemistry exam

PR. It’s a good overview of the information.

^agreed. However, PR usually won’t suffice for an 800, and will probably only guarantee a 750+, which a decent score by all standards. So, if you just want a 750, go for PR, however if you willing to dedicate a lot of time into Chemistry, go for Barrons.

Everybody loves Barron’s but I think it’s all real crap. The point of taking the SATI and SATII, is not to learn the material but to learn the test. Yes, Barron’s may give you more information, but it doesn’t help you break the test. Princeton Review gives an awesome overview of all the material that is covered on the exam. It helped me get a 5 on AP Chem and also an 800. Yup yup.

I know I sound very cynical, but the learning comes from outside the classroom. When taking tests, you just learn the test.

Barron’s, if you’re aiming for near 800.
