Best Preparation for Calculus?

I've decided to take a Calculus course next year, my Junior year, instead of the preCalc and Statistics courses offered.

My only question is-- will I be aptly prepared? I have previously taken Algebra I and II, and am currently taking Geometry as a Sophomore. I'm pretty good with math, but I'm afraid that I will not have enough preparation to successfully grasp the concepts of calculus.

Should I take any summer courses to better prepare myself?

Thanks for any advice.

I was actually coming to ask the same question, lol. I’m doing pretty good in Algebra II this year so I wanted to take AP Calc next year. I was thinking of just self-studying PreCalc to make sure I’ll be prepared for it. My schools pre-reqs say that you can skip PreCalc, though, if you do well enough in Algebra II, so it might be the same for you.

There is hardly any pre-calc in calc, despite what the name may suggest. You’ll be fine skipping from A2 –> Calc AB or BC.
