Hi, so I am currently a sophomore who's one year ahead in math. I took algebra 1 in 8th grade, geometry in 9th, and am currently enrolled in an alg2/trig class. In this path, I would be set to take AP Prep Pre-Calc next year. For those of you who have taken this class, do you think it's a good idea to take this class outside and jump right into AP Calculus next year? I think I am pretty good at math, but understanding it well is really important to me, and I don't want to miss any important concepts either.

Thanks for the help and suggestions, really appreciate it. đ

It depends on your grasp on concepts in Pre-Calc, and comfort level with the material. Like âmathematical maturityâ so to speak. Whatâs your proposed benefit other than getting Calculus done earlier?

I wanted to take AP Statistics, but donât have room in my schedule. Also, I see many people on this site who did calculus sophomore year? How is that even possible?

This is CC⊠Nothing is exactly normal here. There are people here whoâve taken Calculus Freshman year. All in all, if you want to forgo Pre-Calc and take AP Calc, feel free. AP Stats really isnât that much of a difficult class.
