Why not just add:

  • Close to Villanova, who has the #1 basketball team.
  • Lunch tastes good.
  • Dorms have bathrooms
  • Donald Trump went here
  • Spring Break

I’m not going to add more to this list, but I just want to address the comment about Career Services. Students do well with recruiting because the firms seek Penn students, not because our “Career Services is da bomb” (not because Career Services does a good job managing firm relationships).

In fact, this year was a total mess honestly because OCR officially switches to the fall this upcoming school year, but firms came in the fall this year and Career Services didn’t know how to handle it. They thought that by telling firms that they can’t use the OCR suite and that they had to be off-campus that the firms wouldn’t come in the fall. It ends up Career Services has a lot less power than they thought, which left a lot of students in problematic situations, as firms had a lot of leverage over students in recruiting this year, and Career Services wasn’t able to help. That said, this was a one time problem in all likelihood because OCR will be in the fall starting next year, but even in prior years of being at Penn, I’ve never found Career Services to be particularly impressive.

I did not add that to the list myself. We can take it off, if no one objects. I doubt they will unless the head of career services is on cc:

DD got a great job for this summer, but she got it via a career fair, not career services. The only thing they did was provide a few comments on her resume.

Oh, I thought this was a list that you made. Where’d this list come from?

What’s OCR? Not familiar with that acronym.

On-campus recruiting

@WhartonPenn2017 It was from an old thread. I did revise it a bit, and reorder a few things, but the majority of them were there already. I thought it might be helpful for some of the students making decisions.

Are a lot of students at Penn part of Greek life?

@BL2017 I think it’s around 30% (something like that).

I can’t believe that I left off the Love Statue and Dueling Tampons! What other university has those?

Plus Elon Musk, Sharon Stone, and Drew Faust.

No Sharon Stone at Penn (unfortunately). But still, Candice Bergen, Elizabeth Banks, Vanessa Bayer, Whitney Cummings, Melissa Fitzgerald, . . . .

@ClarinetDad16 Facepalm… Ha ha ha >:)

@Much2learn “Where else could I take Law School classes as an undergrad?” Harvard, Yale, and many others. Great feature, but far from unique to Penn…

Suggested add to the list: Chanting "Princeton S*cks while standing in the Palestra.

The One University Policy. It’s really a one-of-a-kind policy that is exemplary of the freedom of intellectual thought that Penn advocates.
