Best SAT Book!!!!

Hey.. What do all of our CCers think the BEST book for the SAT is?
(Other than the Bluebook)

the blue book...

You don't really need anything other than the Blue Book. I have Barron's, but the questions are much different from those in the Blue Book, so I don't practice with them.

what is the bluebook?

It is a book that emits a light frequency around 440 nm.

Since someone decided to be completely unhelpful...

The blue book is the official SAT Prep Book that Collegeboard puts out.

lol..... sorry I'm bored =)

lol i found it mildly amusing if its any consolation

what does nm stand for?

nanometers (wavelength)

ohhhhh lol.

don't use the Kaplan SAT 2006 one, it wasn't that great. don't know about their 2400.

Do you all mean that if you know all the vocabs in the Blue book, then you will do fabulous on the SAT verbal part?

I think all books help in some way. These are the ones that helped me (from the one that helped me the most to the least)
The Blue Book...
Grammatix
Free One SAT Question a Day (not a book.. but it truly helps!!)
The Elements of Style (I know I am a dork, but after I read a book somehow my writing score improved 100 points... magic? coincidence?)
Grueber's
Kaplan's SAT 2400

Princeton Review - 11 practice tests

What about McGraw Hill

I think McGraw Hill is best for writing. Although it is hard work, there is no reason to get less than 750 if you finish its writing section. (CR and vocab is OK, I don't study any math, so I don't know about it)

what is the bluebook?

groundhog,

The Blue Book is otherwise known as The Official SAT Study Guide: For The New SAT by Collegeboard. It has a blue cover, hence the name.

Also, if you want to overprepare use Barron's. I heard they had a pretty good writing section though w/ a list of idioms & prepositional phrases. It would have been helpful if the Blue Book had that.

the bluebook question has been answered 3 times in this thread already lol
