Hello.
I’m planning on taking the Math II Subject test and I was wondering what the best study materials. I am not the type of person who scores a 750 initially, so I’m trying to get the recommendations of people who achieved a high score by using a study material that actually taught them useful & quick methods, instead of those who are brilliant from the get-go. Don’t mean to hate, but I’m not looking for ppl saying they got a 760 the first time w/out studying, and _____ book raised them to an 800.
Thanks!!
Scored 800 after taking pre-calc; used Barron’s (went through all of the review chapters twice, did all 7 practice tests w/ 50-min timing), Princeton Review (practice tests only; difficulty very similar to real subject test), Blue Book (2 practice tests), and googled for any concepts that I didn’t understand.
I highly recommend the Princeton Review book. I has a solid content review, and gives real tips about solving the tricky style of questions found on the real test instead of the over-preparation you get from the Barron’s book. I stopped studying the Barron’s book when I found myself spending most of my time on very specific topics that only show up rarely on the real test. I also found the Chung’s book highly stressing (highest practice test score was 650), and I would recommend against using it. I did the last 3 chapters of the Princeton review test, took the practice tests + 2 practice tests from the Blue Book, and went from a 670 on my diagnostic practice test to an 800 on the real thing.
