I have been accepted to both schools, and so far have gotten a $16,000 scholarship from Loyola. In the application for Loyola I selected Visual Communications as a major because it was the best option I could find that related to my interests. On the other hand, at UIC I am planning to pursue my ideal career of Industrial Design. I got accepted to their school of design where the curriculum the first two years is more or less the same as Loyola’s art department. Both schools require students to complete foundations of art or design before going into their art program. I am wondering which school would offer the best education and experience overall. I am also thinking about my future after graduation, and which degree would help me the most in the workplace. I know the majors aren’t exactly the same, because an industrial design career is more hands on, but I am stuck between the two. Any suggestions or advice?
