Hi. I'm actually currently only a sophomore in high school but I really wanna get ideas for colleges that would be good for me. I am looking to major in broadcasting and some sort of journalism. I live very close to Syracuse Univeristy and that's my dream school for sure but unless I can seriously get my grades way up this year I'm not thinking I'll be attending SU. Does anyone know of any other good schools that I'd be interests in? Thanks!

University of Missouri (Mizzou - so many of its grads are in the TV business, they’re nicknamed the Mizzou Mafia)

Northwestern
University of Florida
University of North Carolina
USC

None of these schools are easy to get into, by the way.

One school that has a great journalism program but is less competitive is Ohio U.

U of Miami is good too.

Some schools that aren’t as difficult to get into as some of the ones already mentioned:

University of Oregon
Ball State University
Arizona State University
Indiana University
University of Georgia

Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film & Media is outstanding for its broadcast journalism major. This is a private school in Southern California (Orange County), undergrads about 5,000. Students take classes in the major from the very first semester.

Nobody mentioned the University of Missouri-Columbia. It is arguably #1 for broadcast journalism. Nice campus, awesome college town.

University of south Carolina, UGA

What’s your home state? University of Oklahoma has a good program, but it still costs almost $30k a year.

@Alexandre, you mean like in post #2?
