best schools for sports medicine/kinesiology?

anyone know of great schools for sports medicine field?

If you’re interested in Sports Medicine as a physician, you don’t need to pick a special undergrad school for that. That is all learned as a specialty **after **undergrad years. My son is an undergrad, and he wants to be an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Sports Med. So we’ve looked into this and have talked to several physicians within this specialty…most recently after my son’s foot surgery in Dec.

Your main goal should be to best prepare yourself for med school acceptance. That means picking a good school that is strong in Bio, Chem, Math, and Physics. And, then scoring well on the MCAT.

Kinesiology programs are sometimes serious science programs, but they can also be light science majors for those who want to be coaches or PE teachers.

Also, if you’re going to have to take out loans for med school, minimize your loans for undergrad. Otherwise, you will “max out” on borrowing power before you finish med school.

So, what are your best and most affordable options?

Are you a junior or senior?

What are your stats?

What is your home state?

See Michigan’s…

Yes, UMich has a strong K program. But, UMich is $50k for OOS students and won’t give needed aid to OOS students.

So, if loans are needed for med school, finances can be a big consideration for undergrad. :)

That’s why I asked the question about stats and home state.

I should also have asked…how much will your parents pay each year?
