"Wake Up" by Hilary Duff

NOT

"Wake Up" by Hilary Duff

NOT

"Yellow" or "The Scientist" Coldplay

"Such Great Heights" The Postal Service

I totally agree that "Stan" by Eminem is one of the best songs ever. Apart from that, "As Your Ghost Takes Flight" by Saves the Day, "She Shut Your Eyes" by Blindside, and "Peacock Skeleton With Crooked Feathers" are also amazing songs everyone should here, even if they hate those kind of genres. ^.^

I'll let ya know when the 21st century is over ;-)

3 for that godforsaken Greenday Song
3 for "Such Great Heights"
2 for "The Scientist"
2 for "Stan" ::cough::

ummm....if you have that ::cough:: next to Stan because you think that it's a bad song and you're mocking it. then i'm sorry to tell you that it's not.

best song of the 21st century thus far.

i'm not sure, but i'd have to say....

Sage Francis - Makeshift Patriot

Above & Beyond vs. Andy Moor - Air For Life (Airwave Remix)

So many people are missing out on great music by not listening to trance. I'm more European than American (although I'm actually Chinese lol), but eurotrance is sublime.

What is your criteria for a good song?

Mine:

1) Good lyrics with deep meaning- pertains to me in a deep way or makes me think more than other songs

2) Good beat, catchy song, etc.

3) Not overplayed or lost in publicity

I guess this is more of a universal type list, but if anyone wants to add, feel free to!!

Since this thread is about music, I just want to say how much I love my iPod and the iTrip accessory.

anything from Death Cab For Cutie.

liz?,

are we talking about the "stan" song by eminem? because if we are then i'd have to do more than cough about it. that song is horrible. it's the most egotistical song i've ever heard. eminem basically wrote a song about a dude (stan) so obsessed with him that he killed himself. how self centered is that. stan didn't kill himself over problem in his own life, no no, he killed himself b/c eminem didn't write back. great. the only good part is the dido hook. and you got to love eminems comment at the end of the song when he finds out stan committed suicide..."damn." haha.

Again, we do not declare someone a "genius" because they can rhyme "anthrax" and "Tampax." I'm so glad the Eminem thing is dying off now.

yeah coqui, that's exactly why he wrote the song. to make himself sound cool.

i agree that eminem show and encore sucked

but listen to infinite and then tell me eminem sucks

btw, if you really think that the guy stan didn't have problems of his own besides eminem, you missed the whole point of the song, i'm sorry.

can i just say stan is my favorite song to spite these people?

Journey - Separate Ways
Bob Dylan - Shelter From The Storm
Death Cab For Cutie - Title & Registration
Caesars - [pretty much their whole old album is good]

liz?,

i noticed stan had problems in his own life. it was the fact that eminem pushed him over the edge that seems really concieted to me. he didn't kill himself because his gf lost the baby, or he lost his job, or anything else. no, it was cuz eminem didn't write back. i dont hate eminem or anything. i'm not one of those crazy people that'll be like "eminem is a disgrace to society and a horrible human being la di da". i just dismiss him as being no different than other rappers that rhyme for the sake of money and no music. he make retarted songs like "a ss like that" and then "deep" songs like "mockingbird" just to make people believe he's credible. he's a poser to me. but then again, do any of us personally know him? no. but as a consumer, we have the right to criticize him or praise him...so cheers to that.

LOL most of these songs that have been said suck... but these ones are good:

Oasis - Let there be Love
Coldplay - Clocks
Radiohead - Idioteque (I'm not sure about the date of this)
Goo Goo Dolls - Name (I'm not sure about the date of this)
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (I'm not sure about the date of this)
