Best Song of the 21st Century

I'm seeing Coldplay at Austin City Limits

Glad Coldplay's getting so many mentions, and I definitely have to go with "The Scientist" as well. I love the Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony" as well, but is that 21st century?

What do you guys think of "Here's to the Night" by Eve 6? It was like everybody's high school graduation song a few years ago.

I used to really like it. It was catchy.

i didnt really like that song that much. at least it wasn't as annoying vitamin c graduation song though....

KRabble - I like your choices.

I wondered if people on this board listened to "emo," indie, etc.

Though I find Konstantine a bit overrated.

Coldplay-the scientist

I listen to a lot of indie... kaiser chiefs, death cab & postal service, interpol, bloc party, kasabian, caesars, okkerville river, a little Bright Eyes, neutral milk hotel, lil libertines, pinback, kings of convenience, bell and sebastian, etc. lots more.

this is kinda pointless seeing that the 21st century isn't near over

i noticed stan had problems in his own life. it was the fact that eminem pushed him over the edge that seems really concieted to me. he didn't kill himself because his gf lost the baby, or he lost his job, or anything else. no, it was cuz eminem didn't write back. i dont hate eminem or anything. i'm not one of those crazy people that'll be like "eminem is a disgrace to society and a horrible human being la di da". i just dismiss him as being no different than other rappers that rhyme for the sake of money and no music. he make retarted songs like "a ss like that" and then "deep" songs like "mockingbird" just to make people believe he's credible. he's a poser to me. but then again, do any of us personally know him? no. but as a consumer, we have the right to criticize him or praise him...so cheers to that.

at least don't you think it was great how eminem changed the chorus of thank you from something joyful to something sad and depressing? i think the beauty and the uniqueness in the song is that stan didn't just kill himself, but that he also killed his baby and wife. and that eminem finally wrote back to stan after seeing the accident on TV, which finally showed him the ugliness and desperation in the world. that's how i view the song

ME TOO!!! I'm so flippin' excited!
AND Oasis is going to be there... sigh... I'm a happy girl.

Yeah. I ended up buying Satuday and Sunday passes. I think I'm going to pass up Franz Ferdinand for Wilco (they're playing at the same time)

dcfca: Good taste. Especially Death Cab and Postal Service. I LOVE Bloc Party's debut album, Silent Alarm. It's very very impressive. I'm hoping to see great things from them in the future.

Yeah. I'm seeing Bloc Party live too. Check this out...

Saturday:
Aqualung, The Frames, Death Cab For Cutie, The Walkmen, Jet, Bloc Party, and lastly Oasis

Sunday:
Ambulance LTD, Eisley, Rachel Yamagata or M83, Doves, The Bravery or Kaiser Chiefs, The Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, Wilco or Franz Ferdinand, and lastly Coldplay.

When I put Or, I mean that they're playing at the same time so I have to decide. I'm really eager to see Bloc Party live, glad you like them!

Whoah nice. I think I'm going to check out some of the bands you listed that I haven't listened to. I'm trying to get more music before I go off to college.

Have fun that is definitely going to be an insane experience. Where do you live?

Try listening to Spoon if you haven't. Cool band, I heard them live a month ago.

And I live in Austin, Tx

Muse - "Falling Away with You" is probably my favorite song.

Eminem - Kim

"Mr. Brightside" by the Killers.

"Clocks" by Coldplay.

"Burn," by Usher. :)

"BYOB" by System of a Down
