Best Song of the 21st Century

^ Yep. :) Good one.

"Mad World" by Gary Jules is beautiful
I love Nightwish, too! I'll always love "Dead Boy's Poem," the most, but they're all perfect.
"Bittersweet Symphony" is also nice.
My absolute favorites, however, are EVERY SINGLE SONG from Shiina Ringo's album, "Kalk, S*emen, and Chestnut Blossoms." She's a Japanese artist, but honestly, her music is absolutely beautiful. There isn't a single song of hers that I don't like. Even if you're not into international music, you really should hear her, she's amazing!

"Jumper" - Third Eye Blind

"Worn Me Down" - Rachael Yamagata

"Jesus of Suburbia" - Green Day

"Snowed Under" - Keane

^ Hmm... looking at your name, I would have thought that you think that "Hollaback Girl" is the best son of the 21st Century.

:)

blvd of borken dreams is horrible. it definelty wont stand the test of time. I think it'd be clocks. That song is <3ed by all

Greenday is pretty overrated in general.

Half of these songs are from the 90s lol.

sorry my song was from the 80's</p>

Coldplay-Sparks or Clocks
The Killers-Mr Brightside
Kings of Leon-The Bucket

yeah greenday is pretty overrated but sadly what most people hear from them are the more manufactured songs that get airplay. "jesus of suburbia" is way different. it's like 50 songs in one because the song is 9 minutes long and tranforms into a completely different tune by the end of the 9 minutes. it's really quite brilliant if you listen to the whole thing.

It's good... but Green Day peaked about 7-8 years ago.

A few people have said "Bittersweet Symphony" by the Verve. One of my faves of all time but...not 21st century, if I remember correctly.

"She Will Be Loved" By Maroon 5 is a great song.

That song gets me emotional!Dunno why....it just hits a button.Faithless is a God!!!

i really love the postal service's "such great heights." such a mellow, pretty song. =)

John Legend - Ordinary People

Awwww, yeah. Good one. But I adore "Used to Love U" too.

***, I just hit 200 posts. *confetti

well basically that whole album is really solid " She Dont Hafta Know" as well is great. Right now, this early in , there is NO song that defines a century or could even be able to tell that it will be the best song of it
but yeah that album is quite sick

Why is John Legend's video set in a church ?

well the song is about him not loving his gf anymore because she's in it for the money. and i guess a good way to give props to the gospel chorus in the song is to set it in a church. and everyone is dressed up at church so we can see how the gf is looking at the most nicely dressed guys. and also i guess to accentuate the hypocrisy/fakeness of the gf. kind of like she's sinning or something.

OOOOORRRRRR it could be b/c kanye west help produce the album and kanye has the self serving egotistical notion that he's some sort of rap preacher, therefore he must be seen in a church for all his videos so that he can seem more respectable.

i don't like kanye as you can tell. but i llllloooooovvvvvvveeeeee john legend. "ordinary people" is incredible. "stay with you" "so high" and "refuge" are great too.
