best state school in oregon for premed?

I'm trying to figure out a safety school in my State for premed. If i go to a state school, I would love to attend OHSU.

What would be a good state school recommendation for me since I'm in oregon. What schools in oregon gives huge advantages to state residency.

bump...........................

bump................

oregon state u is the best for sciences

What if it was compared to some private or liberal arts college in oregon like Reed College or University of Portland. Would you still say Oregon State university is best for premed?

What school you go to matters less than your gpa in pre-med classes, mcat scores and medical ec's. Have you thought about the cost factor for med school at OHSU? It is very expensive even for in state students. So, you might consider UO or OSU just for saving costs on your undergrad tuition, unless you can get good merit or fin aid at a private.

I'm not sure if I understand you question about preference for state residency....state colleges will always prefer residents, while privates don't care one way or the other.

hmm thanks for the reply.

Both U of O and OSU are schools I'm thinking about for a solid safety school. Which one of these seem to give me better opportunities to build a strong EC and have strong research opportunities as I heard research is important for med school admittance.

Another question is, which undergraduate school does OHSU seem to accept the most students from.

bump..........above question

OHSU doesn’t really care where you go to college as long as you are an Oregon resident. They seem to have a slight preference for students from OSU. I think this only because of the focus on sciences in Corvallis. The pool of applicants is growing rapidly from Oregon kids who attend colleges out of state. What will be most interesting is the major of many applicants. My daughter will be applying with a history degree filled with math and science courses.

oh i c. hmm if i go to an out of state school like washington U in St. Louis, but i still have my state residency, am i still comparable to kids who went to U of O if we had the similar stats?

Choose a school that fits you. Meet the requirements. And maintain your Oregon residency.

ah........
