I was given the option for the Priority Waitlists at Mellon and CIT.

Which Priority Waitlist should I select, or should I ask to be considered at Dietrich?

I am fine with my options for a primary major in Mellon, CIT, or Dietrich--I plan to do Computer Science as a minor or secondary major, and this is why I want to go to CMU.

I am going ahead with this plan because I was rejected for SCS, and double-majoring in CS and something else at CMU is an easier path for me than trying to transfer into SCS. However... because I wasn't directly accepted into anything else, I need to get into CMU off these Priority Waitlists first.

I was waitlisted at SCS and CIT and I just said to leave me on both. In the end I just ended up getting into CIT but rejected from SCS
I wasn’t aware you have to choose either MCS or CIT, are you sure you can’t do both?
If not, I suggest doing H&SS, b/c I think they usually have a higher acceptance rate (couldn’t find exact numbers)

Honestly, I haven’t heard about the “considered for H&SS” option before (have you applied there?) but I think it’s a good idea to remain on the waitlists, and if possible, get considered for H&SS as well.
Giving them a phone call asking for clarification about the “either or” is also not a bad option :)

I think I will call them. Ideally I would like to select both priority waitlists and be considered for H&SS… whatever gets me in, you know?

I’m almost 100% sure you can do priority waitlist for both and be considered for another school. I was priority waitlisted at Deitrich and Tepper and I sent mine in asking to stay on for both!
