Best Student Sections for Football?

I didn’t buy a season ticket, since I’m not really into football but at orientation pretty much everyone I talked to had a season ticket. Is it part of life at U of M? I’m starting to think I might become a social pariah just because I don’t have football tickets. Could someone tell me if this is true or not?

Everyone gets football tickets. Even the star wars dorks go to the games.

Well, since that’s the case, does any know if it’s too late to get tickets?

Yes it is too late.

I don’t really know much about the social life at U of M, but will it matter that I don’t have tickets?

You can still pre-game, you just wont be able to GO to the games. Half the people there are probably too drunk to remember being there. I dont think youll miss much in terms of socializing, but football is a huge deal here.

What do you mean pre-game? Are there parties and stuff?

I never got season tickets. Can I still go to games? Also is there a way students that didn’t get season tickets to get tickets to games?

I’m sure you can Entertainer. I’ve never heard of a team that forces you to buy season tickets to watch their games. Then again, I’ve never been to a college football game o_O

Neither have I. I’m so excited about college football. I hope I can go to my first game with no problems.

the games are soooo fun. although I’ve never sat in the student section.

the students stand the entire game; most of the rest of the people in the stadium sit unless the game’s on the wire. my dad calls the people at michigan stadium “a wine-sipping crowd”; that’s pretty darn accurate in my opinion. if you’re standing up down in front people will yell at you to sit down. most of the fans just like to chill, clap, and boo. it’s also amazingly quiet how 100,000+ people can be, although i think it’ll be louder starting this year because of the new suites rising above the stadium on either side.

like others have said, there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. if you’re in the top 10 rows you’ll have trouble making out the players’ numbers and it’s hard to see where the ball is but you’ll still get the basic idea.

Entertainer, if you’re really wanting to go to the games, there’s always scalpers outside the stadium. now, I don’t condone illegal activities like that, but they’re a fact of life and i’ve never heard of anybody near Michigan Stadium being arrested for buying scalped tickets. also, there’s every chance one of your friends won’t want to go to a game and will give you their ticket.

But do they sell tickets at games or everyone that goes to games already has their ticket?

tickets are typically sold out well before most, if not every, game.

Dam that sucks. I gotta get tickets ASAP before they all get sold out. Hopefully I can find some north campus engineers that use their time to study instead of going to the games.

^Yeah, because we all know engineers are more likely to not use their football tickets… (totally not true by the way)

For crap games its pretty easy to find someone you know who isn’t going and wants to sell you their ticket. Just do that

lulz, I’ll sell you the EMU and Delaware State games for 30 dollars each

:V

lol i was just kidding by the way with that comment. But when I get to campus i’ll figure it out.

You can always find a ticket to buy if you ask around in your dorms. Also on the Michigan Facebook websites. Even for the big games you can almost always buy a ticket from a student who is leaving town or just can go for whatever reason. Next year buy season tickets. You can always sell the ones you don’t go to!

^ Lol, I’m really curious. Not that I would do this, but can you make a profit by buying a season ticket and selling tickets to individual games?

You can but it’s not as easy as it used to be.
