Is it worthit buying season football tickets, cause what if you have a class or something at the same time and you can't make it? Or is it better to just buy tickets per game individually?

I doubt you'll have a class on a saturday.....

Haha, are all the games on a SaturdaY?

its worth it. if you really don't want to go to the games just sell the tickets. You can probably make a profit selling tickets to students who didnt buy a season ticket.

I'm wondering if they are worth it as well. I'll be sitting by myself in the new students section, and that could be anywhere. Is it that big of a deal if you move down and sit with your friends or if your friends sit in the nosebleeds with you?

Probably not this year. UM has an empty cupboard (No QB or RBs to speak of and the best lineman quit) and a new coach with a new system that the current players are not suited to. Could be a LONG season.

But Big Ten games are about more than winning--it's a real event and you need to be part of it.

Well, ever sit alone in a restaurant next to a big party and feel like everyone is having fun but you. Multiply that by 106,000 and that will be how you will feel on football Saturdays if you don't get tickets. Buy the tickets, if you really don't end up going you will be able to sell many of them with a little effort. Whether the team does well or not, the football tradition at Michigan is second to none, and you will enjoy the spectacle. Why don't the several of you who are inquiring form a group and get tickets together - if nothing else they will be easier to sell that way.

...107,501...

I don't think this is even a question. Unless you are completely anti-you own school, then I don't see why you wouldn't get tickets. It isn't high school any more. This isn't a glorification of jocks, but rather a gathering of students and true school bonding. I'm really looking forward to the experience.

106,201 until the renovations are done.

Oh yeah? hmm, that sucks for the 1500 people left out.

More than that, because you have to count all the handicap spots we're legally required to offer that nobody is buying.

lol the handicap seating issue really bashed the school this year...

Anyways, season tickets are definitely worth buying, hands down.

For example, I didn't know jack about football (please understand, I'm an international) when I started freshman year. I bought a season ticket. Look at me now; I'm a football maniac :D

I mean, for me, to see a crowd that doubles the population of the island I'm from, nothing could've gone wrong, I guess, hehehe

If you're a freshman, BUY the season tickets. There's nothing like experiencing Michigan Football with hundreds of thousands of people.

For anyone not a freshman, I'd argue against buying a season ticket for a non-Ohio State, non-Penn State, QB-less, new coach season.

I bought season tickets and got lucky enough to get 2nd row tickets after they ran out of room in the Student Section. Yes, it sucked not sitting with the rest of the students, but its probably the only time in my life I'll get to sit that close to the field at Michigan Stadium :)

Anyhow, yes, get the tickets. The whole Gameday experience is so awesome. My proverbial mouth is watering as the days tick down to the fall.

hey gamefreak,

i didn't get student section season tickets but i got season tickets for scattered seating...did you end up sitting alone, or did you go with people? cuz it would suck big time if i had to go to the games alone..AGHHHHHHH

Barrons, you should know better. Michigan never has an "empty cupboard". Michigan is one of a handful of programs that never rebuilds, it simply reloads. A couple of RBs...three of them in fact (Brown, Minor and Grady), are actually quite good. Look for one to emerge and the other two to lend good support.

And Michigan OL is actually quite talented, though admittedly young. The one that left was not the most talented. He would have been a starter, but there are two or three others that are just as good (Schilling, Ortmann and McAvoy).

QB is indeed a question mark, but TEs and WRs aren't. Guys like Mathews, Clemons, Hemingway, Savoy, Butler and Massey make QBs look good. So whoever wins the QB job will have good receivers and ends to throw to.

The Offense isn't going to be dominant, but it should be functional.

And that's half the team. Defense, particularly the DL and DBs, should be solid. Opposing teams aren't going to score over 20 points against Michigan often.

But to answer Predator's question, season tickets are definitely worth it. Games are always on Saturday and they will never conflict with classes. Pratically every seat in the stadium is good, whether it is in the student section or not.

Gamefreak. Being in the second row at Michigan Stadium in NOT a good seat. Trust me on that. You want to be up at least 30 rows to get a good view of the field. However, any seat in the big house is well worth sitting in. Barrons, you obviously don't understand anything about Michigan football to make a statement like. This isn't Wisky, we've been selling out our stadium every game since the mid seventies. Students should ALWAYS purchase their football tickets. Have a great year and GO BLUE!

Appalachian state

You mean the three time defending Div. 1AA national champions? The team that could easily defeat at least a quarter of the teams in Div. 1A? That Appalachian State?

No, the other Appalachian State, obviously.
