I'm in Section 27 Row 95 for the football games. While I've been told that I have a pretty good view of the field, is that considered to be one of the better student sections? If not, which ones are more desirable?

It really doesn’t matter which section you’re in, as long as you’re IN the student section, which you are. I wasn’t so fortunate my freshman year. You’re pretty high up there but you’ll be able to see fine. All seating is based on credits, so freshman are way up at the top and seniors are close to the field. Each year you’ll get better seats. If it turns out that all your friends are in a different section, one of them can exit the stadium with an extra ticket, and get you back in to their section. I did that for every game freshman year because my seats were with a bunch of old people who yelled at me to sit down.

Looks like you have a good section, but you are WAY up there. Honestly, I think any seat in the big house is a good seat, and Ive been all over the place. The prime seats are in front of the press box, and not under

Thanks for the feedback so far! I know you guys said they assign future seating based on your credit hours, but do they also base it on how many football games you attend? Like, if I attended all of the games, would my seats be better than those who attend like half of them? Sorry if that sounds obnoxiously competitive, I was just curious. I know they do it that way at UMD College Park.

No, pretty sure attendance doesn’t matter

It’s just your credits, unless you’re an incoming student whichcase you’re at the top regardless of how many credits are on your transcript. I don’t mind that at all but will not be pleased if I don’t even make it into the student section, I wasn’t aware that was possible.

Section 27 is fine, closer to the 50 yard line which is good. Given that you’re an incoming student, it’s a pretty solid spot. You will be in the student section (100% sure, I sat there myself, though I few rows lower), and you may very well be able to sneak down a few rows, depending on the game.

what about section 30 row 88?

there are no bad seats in the big house… except for the people that get blocked by the press box lol…i swear, freshman year I could see half the field lol

^^^^And also the lowest rows when you can’t see the whole field…

How is section 32 row 84? I feel like this isn’t a good area. Thoughts?
Thanks

32 is behind the goal post. 30 is behind the endzone, but a bit off to the side from the goal post…not too bad.

I’m in your section, and in your row haha.

what is your seat number?

Flapm_08, are you referring to me? If so, then I’m in seat 40. You?

i was indeed referring to you, and it looks like we will be sitting about 3 seats apart from each other :P

Awesome! Can’t wait for football season!!

Soo, does everyone pretty much just buy season tickets at U of M? How much do season/daily tickets cost?

Just curious :P

I ordered them online as season tickets and they cost $200 for the 8 home games, plus an optional $10 for a Maize Out shirt.

There’s no bad seat in the Big House, but as you get closer to the field, the better the experience is. I was in the third to last row last year and it was alright. When I sat with my friends who had seats way further down (I was a transfer), it was a lot more engaging environment.

The other thing is that the new luxury boxes make it shady in parts of the stands so if it’s breezy, it can get a little chilly. I’ve been watching football highlights tonight, and I’m veritably excited.
