I think they typically run around $100 per hour.
If you have the money for a coach and a program – my daughter grew leaps and bounds at TPAP – the performing arts project. It is an amazing 3 week experience, and they are given the opportunity to meet the heads of several programs.
^^Ditto that - my D loved TPAP -although she went after her audition process… but still considers it to have been “life changing”.
Is TPAP doing college audition help then during those 3 wks?
@theaterwork I think that doing a summer program (even if it is not “audition specific”) for a school you have researched and are interested in is a good idea. There is a lot of talk about which colleges may want you and your audition prep for them, but the summer is the perfect time for you to “audition” a college. My daughter fell in love with BW and was fortunate enough to get into the Overtures program. It gave her a glimpse into what life would be like there and program specifics and personalities of the faculty. While it’s definitely not a guaranteed way into a program (my daughter did not ultimately end up at BW), I think it can certainly help them to see if you are a possible good fit for them (more so than a 5 minute audition can) but also for you to know if it would be a good fit for you! I would suggest doing a lot of research and looking into schools with auditon based summer programs and applying to several. This can be a good way to narrow down your college list as well. If you don’t make the cut for a summer program that could be an indicator that you are not what they may be looking for in their upcoming class. Remember a lot of this comes down to casting. It may have absolutely nothing to do with your talent. Most schools want a well rounded and diverse group of kids for their programs. If they already have several of your “type” that may be the sole reason for a no.
