I just finished my UC application and before choosing which one to apply for in November, I am curious about the different schools. I know how they rank on the overall national rankings list, but can't find anything on how they rank in specialties. I will be majoring in neuroscience or neurobiology as a premed. I am looking for a list of how the 10 campuses rank in order of the best undergraduate neuroscience/premed programs to the worst. Any comments help!!

Many undergrad majors or concentrations aren’t ranked. Premed isn’t ranked because there really aren’t “premed programs.” Being premed just means that you’re taking regular BCMP classes that other STEM students are taking.

You’re OOS for UCs. You’re a FL resident. Going to a UC as an OOS premed student is rarely ever a good idea.

Every good school is fine for a premed student. It’s not a difficult task for an established school to have good Bio I and II, Gen Chem I and II, OChem I and II, Physics I and II, Calc, stats, biochem, psych and sociology classes. Those are staple run-of-the-mill classes that are fine at 100s of schools…including a number of your FL publics…UF, FSU, UCF, USF, FIA, FAU, and so forth.

If you’re serious about going to med school, don’t choose a school (or state) that is over-loaded with gunning premeds…and that’s what you’d find at UCs.
