maybe you guys should realize that there are other parts of business besides investment banking. Just becuase everyone knows that job usually equates to money and lots of it, dont be greedy

NYU-Stern.

i cant make stern with my stats, any other suggestions.

everybody wants to be an investment banker until they go to undergrad biz school...too many hours, not enough cred....ibank has the highest starting salary but in the long run, theyre all comparable

You can make NYU CAS.

Um, Bentley College?

i will try to make it into NYU CAS at all costs I think.. I wll research more about bentley, thanks.

also about ibank, i think it would be an interesting experience, and its setting my goals high, like if i work hard enough to become ibanker with great gpa and good internships and stuff i could get other jobs besides ibanking too, I just wanted to aim high in the business world.

I quote mini, "Why spend $200k for a business education that is not as good as Baruch?"

Sounds like someone was rejected by NYU...

I kid. But how can you keep criticizing Stern? And I've never even heard of this CUNY stuff but you claim its better and more prestigous than Stern? I don't think so, pal.

He says its better known, not that its more prestigious than Stern. But seriously CUNY/SUNY leaves much to be disired, even Baruch. If I wasn't so familar with NY I probably wouldn't have heard of Baruch either.

i want to get best college possible, my parents have tons of money to spend on my college, i dont want to save them any money =]

got accepted to college already,

thanks a lot for PMing me, I am considering applying to Tepper ED next year, can i still apply early action to other schools EA if I apply to Tepper ED?

I think I will probably be rejected so it would be nice if I could hear back from other schools early too, and if I get into Tepper then I will just forget other schools and go to CMU if possible. Please write back, I know some schools have different ED policies, would be great if you knew this.

Thanks for all the help.
Mike

i tried pming but it dont work for u, ur pm box is full =

shamless bump. for the win.

"I kid. But how can you keep criticizing Stern? And I've never even heard of this CUNY stuff but you claim its better and more prestigous than Stern? I don't think so, pal."

You missed my point. It wasn't Stern vs. Baruch. It was Stern vs. Baruch plus $200,000 to start learning about investing, and getting a job on Wall Street NOW, rather than waiting four years.

(I'm an old guy, and in my day, the only New Yorkers who went to NYU were those who couldn't get into the CUNY-Baruch. It was mostly out-of-towners who wanted to be in New York. That has changed, and I well-acknowledge it. But the point wasn't a "head-to-head" comparison.)

Why don't you try going international like International business

One stategy is to find a niche or little known secret. For example if you want to do commodities training, the Spears College of Business at Oklahoma State has an actual trading floor. Many energy trading firms and hedge funds recruit graduates from there. Also check out Wabash College in Indiana. It sends a surprising amount of grads to Wall Street.
Fordham and Baruch are great picks but also you might want to consider College of the Holy Cross or Villanova.

Does anyone know a good school for like mortgage/short term interest/stock/currency trading? I know Bentley has a trading floor...

stern is more well known in NYC than Baruch.
