best undergrad pharamcy schools

is there a ranking of sorts out there? does anyone have insight on this?

I think Pharm is now a six year type program

long island university, 5 year program i think

I had a chance to check and to work as a Pharmacist you need the full six year--two ug, 4 Pharm program in most cases. UW has a BS Pharmacology degree but I don't know what that is used for.

rutgers pharmacy is probably one of the most well-known out there. nj is home to many pharmeceutical companies such as johnson and johnson.

I don't know what you mean by "Undergrad pharmacy school." The way most people go to Pharmacy School (which is graduate- Doctor of Pharmacy) is to do 4 years at undergraduate institution, majoring in things like Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and so on then apply to a graduate pharmacy school. Pharmacy schools, where one obtains a PharmD have prerequisites that they make you meet. Yeah you can do 2 years at JC and try and finish the prereq's that way, because you aren't required to have a degree to marticulate, however I think something like 98% of applicants expect to have a Bachelor degree by marticulation now. I know there are a few pharmacy schools (there are 98 total in the US) who have 6 year programs where you go right out of high school into a pharmacy program and do sort of a combined BS then transition to pharmD. I don't know too much about those though.

So anyway, what I think you may be asking is, what are the best undergrad schools to take pharmacy school pre-req's at. Is that right? If so, any school that is respected in the Biological and Physical sciences, but I don't really think it matters too much.

Like I said, if you're looking to become a pharmacist, the way to go is get a bachelors of science (4 years) then apply to pharmacy schools for you pharmD (another 4 years).
