Which universities are well-known for their psychology department?

the rankings that exist are based on grad programs. however, because psychology is such a common major, most top colleges will have a very strong department. it also depends on what branch of psychology you are most interested in. for example, while harvard overall has a great department, their clinical psych department isnt even accredited.

Sound advice. I do want to add that Stanford arguably has the best overall psych program, so I would look into it since you're in CA. Other than that, I'd pick out a school that has an overall fit for you.

Well right now I'm only in 10th grade, so I have a little bit of ways until college.

Overall, I'm doing fairly well with a GPA of 4.5 weighted, 4.0 non-weighted (5 honors, 4 APs [Next year Ill be taking psychology at a comm. college])
Rank- 18 / 703

ECs-
Cheerleading- Captain freshmen & J.V year (2)
Drama Club- V.P & Secretary (2)
Key Club- +100 CS hours (2)
NHS
Habitat for Humanity Club (1)
ASB- Freshman/Sophomore class President (2)
Santa Claritas Visions In Progress (2)
Teen Court Juror (2)

Work Exp None? Im not really old enough yet. Unless you count babysitting (?)

So Im not really sure whats going to happen in the future. And Im also not sure what else I need to put in my current stats. Haha.

My chances into Stanford are probably slim but I'd love to go there. Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it. :)!

I'm leaning towards social & clinical psychology.. But I'm not quite sure yet..

Thank you for comment :)

Here are some strong undergraduate programs with a clinical focus to consider:
University of Pittsburgh
Purdue
University of Minnesota
Iowa State
Florida State
University of Missouri--Columbia
Case Western Reserve

Strangely enough, if you are a B.F. Skinner fan, Western Michigan University is exceptional.

Why is that strange, go5878?

Didn't Skinner teach/conduct research at Harvard?

It doesn't really matter where he taught, toothfairy. Harvard, like most universities, has rejected the conditioning-only approach in favor of cognitive psych. Even the universities that favor conditioning often bring in cognitive aspects that Skinner ignored.

What are my chances of getting into a Psych program out of state at University of Michigan if I am in Texas?

as an undergrad or grad?
