Hi guys, I’m posting this thread because I am unsure of the steps that I should take to get a good high-school internship. I am interested in computer science (software engineering), and am taking online courses to deepen my knowledge of the field. I am a sophomore in high school and will be taking two AP Computer science classes next year, none this year though.
I read articles online that suggested asking my school counselors for internship opportunities, but I do not think that they know enough to offer good options. Should I still try?
Also, I read that I should contract companies and/or college professors directly through email or face-to-face if there are internship opportunities where they work. Would this be a viable option, and would I get helpful responses? I feel like I would be an annoyance, because many people do the same thing.
One more question:
Would high-school internships be very focused on technical skills and knowledge similar to college internships? I am wondering because although I have some experience with programming, I am not very, very good, and was wondering what type of work I would do, and the skills required for it.
Thanks for reading and please comment down below!
