Best way to go...?!?

So I want to be a doctor, but I don't know which way is the best way to go?
My parents aren't really rich either..middle class, so I'd have to take tons of loans.

Plan 1: Go to UT Austin or Baylor and major in Biology. I believe I'll probably end up be in the top 10-15 percent of my class. I don't know how good these schools would prepare me for the MCAT though.
Apply to top med schools. How would my chances look on actually getting in?
If I go this route..I'll definitely save tons of money..because I'm in state.

Plan 2: Apply to Duke, JHU, Stanford, UNC and other competitive schools, but the four I named are definitely top. Probably end up being top 50 %, but not nearly as good as if I went to UT or Baylor. Better prep for the MCAT..maybe?? Apply to top med schools...would I have a better chance of getting in if I went this route?
Plan 2 is somewhat a hypothetical situation...because who knows if I'll even get into any top undergrad schools, but this is if I did get in....

Which plan should I do?

Heh, why don't you try both plans? See where it leads. Then you can decide.

I go with number 1. =] Because number 1 is always the best. Hehehe! I'm soo smart. :( Just kidding. If you go with number 2, ^_^ you can visit me! =] I don't know....>< follow your heart!

LOL SNEAKiiE. You are smart in a silly way.

I'd say apply to both - you never know what financial aid you will get until you apply, and that could help you decide. But, at this point, I'd say your plan #1.

Why not apply to Rice? There's a program where you are accepted to both Rice undergrad and Baylor's medical school. Even if you change your mind, Rice would prepare you well for any medical school.

Go to the best college you can get into and afford.
