Hi, what do you guys think is the best way to improve really FAST. I got a 1990 on my last SAT and I would like to improve to somewhere past 2050.

1 is this possible by the november sat?

2 what is the best way to improve really fast and effectively?

What are your weak areas? Or are you well rounded?
Do you have trouble with vocab... Get a high-frequency word book and conquer words you don't know.
Reading comprehension... Read, read, read. Even with a short time left, it never hurts.
Math... Do practice problems again and again, and soon enough it will become second-nature.
Writing... Practice essay writing, the grammar and sentence correction portion is mostly developed over a long period of time so you can't do much other than practice problems.
It really depends.
I'd say a 60 point improvement in 2-3 months isn't at all out of the question.

Yeah....a 60 point increase shouldn't be too hard...you just have to answer about 6 more questions correctly....

In my opinion, the grammar section should be the easiest to master. The SAT tests the same grammar mistakes over and over again. There is a post on this website that lists the most common grammar mistakes. Also, if you go to the grammar section of number2.com - It's free but you have to sign up - they give you a very good lesson on grammar. With the lesson, and a few practice problems, you should be flying over grammar questions...

But yes, don't worry, 60 points isn't hard.......I improved my SAT score by 110 points........from the PSAT........which is much easier than the SAT..........and I only studied for like a week.......because I used to be a procrastinator.....

Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem, even for the October SAT probably. I've been using some Grammatix techniques and tips from xitammarg's posts on this board this past 1-2 weeks for the first time and even though in June I got a 570 in Math, just yesterday I took a blue book practice test and got a 620-680 (I answered 9 more right answers).

The only thing I did was implement some of the tips I learned from some Grammatix and another friend of mine and did a few full math sets this one week. Also, I had Kaplan and I found their list of 100 concepts at the end for math pretty useful, its good to use something like that as a refresher, what avik suggested for Writing might be the right idea too.

Well umm... writing is probably the easiest to improve in... just memorize grammar rules inside and out ...and ... The critical reading vocab is also easy .. just study 5,000 vocab words then you're set.
