I got my SAT results yesterday. CR 380 Math 460 Writing 500. I know it's horrible. I'm retaking it in June. I'm trying to get at least a 2000. Is a 600+ point jump realistic when retaking the SAT? Also what books should I use I'm using Princenton, College Board and Kaplan? How many points can one person improve per section? I'm sure I can bump up my Math and Writing by a lot but what do you guys recommend I do for Critical Reading? Any suggestions?

Read the news and grind on critical reading sections daily. Furthermore, I would recommend Direct Hits to improve your vocabulary.

There are two parallel tracks to improve your SAT scores: To improve your academic knowledge and to improve your test skills. You will need both to have big improvement. To build up your knowledge, it will take longer time. While to improve your test skill, it can be achieved within a few weeks. Just do as many practice test as possible to get familiar with the format of the test and time control. By doing the practice tests and going through the wrong answers, it will also improve your knowledge somewhat. Getting any book is good and more is better. College Board one would have some real test in it while Kaplan is on the easy side. For CR, start with the 500 word list.
