Best Way To Raise My Score?

I have about a month and a half to study for my SATs... My scores are in the 1650-1900 range... I don't really understand why they vary so much...But I wanted to know what would be the fastest and most effective way to pick up my score....

BTW, I am taking a Kaplan course, and I've finished the Blue Book, although I still have to look over the explanations much...
Any suggestions? I'd be really grateful!

What areas (CR, Math, Writing) are you weak in? First decide where you have the most room to improve and go from there.

Don’t worry about studying vocab too much. Focus on learning math and grammar rules and the different types of Reading Comp questions in order to maximize your score.

Whatever you do, study consistently (1-2 hours EVERY day).

Ok, so I’m good with the grammar part…
The essay’s okay…I need to work on that…
See both my Math and CR are around the 580-650 range… So its a little confusing…
For the math, it’s always like the last 2-3 questions I get stuck at… And sometimes I make random mistakes in the middle…
And for the CR, it’s definitely the timing… Anyway to get better at that? Cause I really get stuck on the timing…
And I really need to start studying daily… Hopefully, I’ll start on that tomorrow…

you can start reviewing sat math concepts here
http://blog.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/p/math-section.html</a>
The guy that runs the blog posted above has a huge math book that is amazing the ebook is 10 the hard copy is 30, but a lot of it is posted on his site. You should also get the blue book and go through those tests. He has a directory of math solutions (how to do the problem) from all the practice tests in the book here http://blog.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/p/blue-book-math-solution-index.html</a></p>

If you are desperate you should buy the ebook and go through the entire book in a couple days then go back to review things you missed. I know most people don’t like ebooks, but I think the hard copy is really expensive for one book but the ebook is so worth it. And you get the ebook right away so you can start studying immediently .
I did that , and it really helped me.

Well in terms of Math I think repetition is huge. This increases both your accuracy and speed.

For reading comp you may want to focus on reading one paragraph at a time and then doing the questions on the paragraph. Then read the next paragraph, do the questions on that, etc. This may lower your accuracy but definitely increase your speed (since you lose the overall “big picture” of the passage) but if that’s what will help your score the most, then do it.

Thanks TSGuru, I’m taking it in May so hopefully, I pray to GOD that it works out!
I’m aiming for a 2000…
And thanks for the blogs Diana… I will look into it…
Any other suggestions?

For critical reading, the best thing you can do is practice and remember not to insert your opinions when answering questions. All of the answers will be in the passages, some of them you may just have to infer.

For the essay, create a list of evidence that can be used for a wide variety of things. Memorize some vocabulary words that you can use for most prompts. Memorize dates. Practice writing a 2 page essay in that 25 minute time frame.
Something you could do is go to Sparknotes, click on some popular books, and just read about their themes. Don’t worry too much if you forget the names of the characters or the author or whatever, just keep an idea of the general theme and story. If you’re not accurate about some specific piece of information, it won’t matter as long as your evidence supports your stance. Also, stick to one side. Don’t be “well, both sides are right”. Stick to only one side. You don’t even have to agree with it fully, simply make a good and supportive essay on the topic.

Good luck!
