Best way to study for AP Biology Test (Chapters 8 + 9)?

I have a test in AP Biology tomorrow and am not doing to well in the class (83) and I recently got an F on a test (and its retake). I am not going to study directly from the text book, as I did that for the last test four times for each chapter and still failed. If you don’t know what I am talking about, I am talking about Pearson AP Biology Chapter 8: An Introduction to Metabolism and Chapter 9: Cellular Respiration: Harvesting Chemical Energy.

I am currently watching Khan Academy, but I really want to get at least a B- the first time (You can retake up to 100). Any advice? I use the reading guides and they seem to help, but I know that can’t be it. I created a quizlet on the vocab and plan to study it later.

That’s awesome that you can retake. What you should have done after the first or second test is memorize all the questions you can, and then right after the test, quickly write it all down. That’s all you have to do. The studying part idk because I haven’t take AP Bio

I am currently working through AP Bio as well, though I am using Campbell, not Pearson. Khan Academy is great. Do you know why you’re having trouble with the material? I always find that it’s easier to figure out what I need to do when I know why I’m having trouble in the first place. Is it conceptual, or just difficult to memorize so much information?

@fightingdragonz
Campbell and Pearson are the same thing if I am correct.
I find the material difficult to understand, specifically applying the concepts. I watch two or so hours of Khan Academy.
Turns out I wasn’t the only one struggling, as I know multiple people who got an F (myself included) and the average was a D or so.
I am still hopeful, especially because I heard the class gets a lot easier third and fourth quarter.

You’re already watching Khan videos, but have you read any of the Khan online readings? They’re pretty good.

Crash Course Biology’s (Hank Green) videos are usually more basic than what you need for AP bio, but they’re good if you want the basic concept explained.

Honestly I watch a lot of videos and find it really helpful. Khan, Bozeman Science, Crash Course for basic concepts.

@BiologyMajorHere You should also take AP practice tests, and look for the questions that relate to the chapters that you are learning at the moment.

I hate to be rude, but please don’t respond if you don’t know what you are talking about.
Nobody is going to study for the actual AP test until January or so. It would be a complete waste of time when I need to focus on a specific subject.
Also, look up questions? I stated that clearly within the post I was looking up videos and going through the book to answer stuff.
I helped you because I had already taken the 9th grade English. You’re a freshman who isn’t going to be able to take it until next year at the earlier.

Highly recommend Crash Course videos or diagrams online that are more in depth than actually needed for the test.
