Best way to study for June SAT, given these circumstances

References/materials at hand:
College Panda’s SAT math
PR 6 practice tests
Math Workbook for the SAT (PR)
Course Workbook for the SAT (PR)
Verbal workbook for the SAT (PR)
3 practice tests (PR)
Blue Book

Hi,

So I’ve improved 100 points, only doing one practice test and a whole lot of CR&W prep on Khan Academy (I know) and going through half of College Panda math book, in between Dec PSAT and March SAT. I know the scales for two tests are different, but overall, my progress seems somewhat insignificant, given the amount of work I’ve done.

Recently, my school decided to finance SAT prep with PR, with merit-based aid. I got enrolled in an online course and immediately hated it, so I asked to use the money to get me a private tutor, which they did. Nevertheless, I got all these unused PR books, that I would like to properly utilize, but I don’t know the best way to go about them. I have two AP tests on 5/5 & 5/12 that I would want to focus on studying for, but afterwards, I have a three-week window to utilize any of my resources (my tutor and I do individual work on the Blue Book, two hours a week, which I might have rather kept until the few days before the test, but I have enough PR tests to last and I guess they’re not too bad, since the only one I took, I got the same score as the March SAT, being 1350/1600).

What would be the best way to go about this? I’ll probably be doing August SAT too, but I have a summer-long commitment that ends mid-August, leaving me with relatively few days to dedicate to SAT. I found that 10-day guide online, which looks pretty appealing, but with twice that time, what should I do to increase my score by as much as possible?

(Will be consulting my tutor about this today, will update)

I was about to start a thread but yours is so similar. I have one twist - D’s are going to focus on Math only. They have 33 days including 2 APs so will need to be efficient. D1 has a 580 and aiming for a 680. (her score makes no sense. She’s a 4.0 student with 100% in pre-Calc Honors. Perhaps she had a bad day).

D2 has a 530 aiming for 620.

Any opinions on the best way to add 90-100 Math points in 33 days? My initial thought is Kahn Academy + The new College Board book due 5/16 + _________between now and the 16th.

@salingere please share your tutor’s wisdom!

I filled in the blank with Warners 28 lessons Intermediate. I’ll report the results.

@byadg123 you have to understand the reason for the lower score. was it timing ? or content?

One thing that older daughter liked about a tutor: They give you a practice test, then focus on the areas where you need help. Also, timing and one’s attitude towards hard questions (such as when to skip them and go on with the next one) is the sort of thing that a tutor can help with.
