from ur experience, what are pro's and con's between the two? And of course, which would you guys recommend?

My UCSC children say this depends on whether you like your own cooking, and whether you and the others in your apartment let dirty dishes pile up. I'm told the cafeteria food is bad to mediocre. You should get at least a limited meal plan even if you choose an apartment because it is unlikely that you'll have time to get back to it for lunch every day, and there will be days when you just don't feel like cooking.

there may be a little more responsibility when living in the apartments. you may be responsible for cooking your own food and you'll definately have some cleaning responsibilities (kitchen and bathroom). also, you'll have to make more of an effort to meet people if you want to be social. people in apartments can live pretty secluded lives, us in the dorms can't (not that it's a bad thing).
