better b-school

which school is better for undergraduates looking to major in accounting?
U of Iowa
U of Northern Iowa
U of Minn. Twin Cities

I've heard that UNI does a good job at preparing students for the CPA exam, and most graduate and pass soon after graduation.

OR
is this one of those "it doesn't matter where you go, just do well" types of things
thanks

Doesn’t matter as long as it’s accredited and the Big 4 recruit there.

k that’s what I was thinking
thanks

It matters, choose the school that is most heavily recruited from.

that would probably be minnesota, but how would one go about finding out which school gets the most recruiting?

scratch that could be iowa too, who knows.

It doesn’t matter enough to incur a lot more expenses though (if that is the only reason one goes to a more expensive/prestigious school) - as long as you make yourself the usual top-student candidate, the school name isn’t going to matter that much. Of course, there are other reasons to go to a higher-calibre (though non-elite) school besides how much the big 4 recruit there.

^^^^^^^^Agreed. But for the record, Iowa is ranked higher

hmm, good to hear. I live right in Iowa City, won’t be quite as far to visit lol

^^^ If I owa has the better business school, and you’re in state (actually, in city) then we shouldn’t be having this conversation lol cuz I think its’ pretty obvious what your target should be.

haha that’s probably true but i just wanted to check and make sure.

Even though you haven’t given your stats, I wish you the best of luck

thanks man.
I have a 3.4 something GPA and got a 27 on the act. should be fine to get in to Iowa - applied about 2 weeks ago and they start responding in September so should be pretty soon

Since you’re in state, I’d say your chances are great

wouldn’t the fact that minnesota is located in a big city help with recruiting?
just wondering

Iowa is a top 25 accounting school. If you prefer the big city, then Minnesota would be good. If you’re just worried about recruiting, don’t worry- they’ll find you.

alright thanks for the clarification.
