better chances if you are a catholic?

Is that true?
and If I go to a super catholic school, will that also help my chances?

No, it is not true. In some cases, going to a Catholic school actually hurts because ND gets a lot of competition and only will take a few. I know with my school ND always took about three students (and there were many more applications than that). Being Catholic may draw you to ND, but they don’t use that in the selection process.

Instead of thinking that you are advantageous, I’m pretty sure being catholic/non catholic is the same. However, it is the fact that being Catholic, YOU will feel more welcomed and attracted toward the school because many of my friends say the school is pretty darn catholic.

Non catholic students who are accepted to ND will be accepted by many other great schools and probably there is a more chance that they will attend a different school if they feel like they don’t want to be in a school with a religious taste.

I guess being catholic will be a slight plus from the school and a major plus towards yourself.

While being Catholic/from a strongly Catholic school will probably not help/hurt you, your experiences as a result of those affiliations may be helpful. For instance, if you write an essay about a particular service accomplishment or show a particular leadership position (i.e. Eucharistic Minister) that can be a boost, as it shows you were dedicated to service and leadership, something that ND certainly emphasizes.
