Better major: Statistics or Economics?

I’m currently a California CC student looking to apply to UC’s either as a Stats or an Econ major. What I’m having trouble with is deciding which one would be better for job outlook and success in a career.

Companies I’m interested in working for in the future include:
Google, Square Enix, and Pixar to name a few.

Professions I’m interested in include:
Administrative work
Business strategy
Actuary
Finance
IT & Data Management (may require IT background)
Marketing & Communications
Product Management
Program Management (may require IT background)
Sales & Account Management
Sales Operations

Based on my interest in career path, which undergraduate degree would prepare me best for the job outlook in these fields?

*Also, which would prepare me better for an MBA or MFE program?

Both are excellent choices and if you can manage either to double-major or major/minor in those choices all the better. Economics is considered a pretty rigorous social science that requires quantitative and analytical skills and the more you can supplement with additional math and/or stat.courses the better. If you are a stat major, taking economic theory and a few econ. electives will give you a basis for understanding and articulating many issues in the real world.

Good luck to you!
