How would you rank (1-2-3) the poly sci/govt departments for each school ?

i know that bowdoin in some rankings (i.e. the LSE rankings) is listed as the best poli sci department at small colleges in the US. amherst and williams are higher ranked schools, obviously, but bowdoin's government department is reknowned, so i'd put bowdoin first, in the same way i'd put middlebury first in languages before a and w.

Thanks pb....your info is very helpful.

Amherst has a legal studies major that looks very interesting.

However, since these are all wonderful schools, I would choose by "fit" rather than major at a LAC. Students routinely change interests and major. My D definitely did, and my S added one.

Thanks, mythmom. I toured all three colleges two weeks ago and was equally impressed with each. I can see myself fitting in very well at all three. I guess right now it comes down to strength of programs....and getting accepted, of course!
