SAT I— 1700 (Aiming at an 1800)

You should visit both to determine which is a better fit for you. Out of the two I far prefer UCSC. If you can get your SAT's to a high 1800, (1870+) you have a shot at the middle tier UC's as well. (UCI, UCD and UCSB) You might also want to consider Cal Poly SLO.

ucsc hands down.

and why would that be?

That's messed up how people are already telling you what Uc's you will get into just based on your academic record. In my opinion, you should apply to other schools including UCR and UCSC. Believe me, my academic record wasn't GREAT, but I still got into UCI, UCD, UCSC, and Cal Poly SLO.

Anyways, to answer your question just based on prestige UCSC>UCR. I don't know much about UCR's bio program but I know UCSC has a decent program.

alluong wat were ur stats if u dont mind posting
