It's tough to answer this. I haven't gone to any of these schools, so all I could tell you would be something you could find in a rankings book. But since I'm a UCLA guy, I put Marshall at the bottom ;)

why, i mean...does it mean that UCLA guys are insecured when it comes to that of marshall's. wel personally i have met a few alums of ucla and i complete love the school but it just surprised me when u said that ur a UCLA guy and Hence u would put marshall down below !!

nevertheless.

UCLA vs. USC is a HUGE rivalry (especially in athletics).... I think alicantekid may have been referring to that aspect more than any other.

Did you notice the ;) I put at the bottom of my post?

Like 311 said, there is a huge UCLA vs. USC rivalry in everything from sports to academics (except that in academics it's usually no contest). But Marshall is a solid program and is probably the second best program on that list next to Yale.

UCLA Anderson grads are very secure when it comes to their education and their MBA degrees.

I was under the impression that yales mba program was new and unestablished...?

Yale's MBA program is relatively new, but it's still ranked #15 by U.S. News and #22 by Business Week, which is higher than all the other schools on that list.

Oh Ok, alicanekid. in that case its fine. a competition isnt bad ...nevertheless i am sure that UCLA has a better bran name than probably USC has. i dont know about sports. one more interesting thing that i read here was that USC has a great value in south califoria but if u step outa SC u would find it diff. to with stand the competition couz many other schools are prefered over USC !! .... can i have ur takes on that one...

USC is known for its alumni network. It is very strong in California, and SoCal in particular. But if you want to do something like investment banking, the Anderson MBA will get you to a great job in New York or San Francisco much more than a Marshall MBA will (statiscally speaking). Many of the i-banks don't even recruit at Marshall, but they all come to Anderson. That doesn't mean that a Marshall grad can't get an i-banking job, but if the bank doesn't come to your school then you have to do the work yourself. And if there aren't many USC people in banking jobs, then the network won't really help you much there.

From what I have heard from some USC friends of mine, the network is good if you want to get a hook up. One of my friends went to an opthalmologist who was a USC grad, so he gave him a discount on LASIK. Or another friend was buying a car from a dealership where the owner was a USC grad, so he got some money off the car. But when it comes to getting jobs, sometimes the network will only come in handy if your alma mater is the tiebreaker.

Thank you, i'll try to look into the alumni thing and the i-bank firms recruiting at USC...besides with t case i think quite a few I-banks do recruit at Rochester and vanderbilt. i was pleseantly surprised to see the number of top companies comming to vaderbilt. it looks like a good univ. with great finance strength.

Does anyone have any info or take on these two schools-Rochester and vanderbilt ?

Of those schools, I would say Yale is the strongest closely followed by USC. Wash U would be 3rd, Vanderbilt would be 4th and Rochester would be 5th. All fo those programs are good mind you, but I just think Yale's overall reputation and availlable resources make it a likely leader of the pack and USC's excellent alumni network makes it a likely #2. A quick note about Yale. Its SOM is barely 40 years old and was initially intended to be a program for non-profit management. Despite its youth and narrow focus, it has managed to climb the rankings and is today considered one of the top 20 MBA programs in the nation. I think Yale will inevitably take its place among the nation's elite B Schools ovedr the next few years.

Actually, the Yale SOM is 30 years old (founded in 1976).

I agree that Yale is the clearly best school of the OP's list.

hey wht o u guys think of the reputation and quality of the MBA program at warrington school of business ( univ of florida ).... i have seen the list of recruiters and they have a lotta top companies recruting their graduates. i thik its a very good school,

does any one have a take on this school ?
