Better to switch senior class to Pass/Fail or risk a D.?

<p>My S's high school only offers Calc as an AP class or at an honors level. The honors level is moving at a quick pace and several of the seniors are precariously placed between a C and a D. Would it be better to switch this class to a Pass/Fail rather than risking a D on either a first-quarter or mid-year report? What would your advice be to these students?</p>

<p>The question is one I would put to the colleges he’s applying to: `How do you calculate GPA if one core class is pass/fail?’ If it’s not included, go with P/F.</p>
