Better Undergrad Major for MBA later?

I currently attend the University of Washington in Seattle and wish to attend a top tier business school after my undergraduate degree. Would it serve me better to get a undergrad business degree from the Foster School of Business? Or would it be better in the eyes of the business schools to go for a more liberal arts degree (I was thinking a double major in PolySci/Economics)? Thanks for your help!

I would say it’s better to get a liberal arts degree. An undergrad business and MBA together is just redundant. But, it’s probably more important to pick a major that will give you the best GPA as that is more important into admissions.

Major in economics

Engineering.

Yeah, I see what you mean. But I’m also thinking about the job prospects, which seem stronger if I took the undergrad business route rather than the economics one. If I can’t get the job experience for the MBA, then wouldn’t it be worse?

Is this a joke?

^lol yeah. Obviously, the GPA is important, but not more than a major itself. You are not suppose to choose a major only because you can attain a high GPA there.

No, I’m not joking.

If you love computer science or engineering and you think you can manage to pull off a nice GPA on either major, go for either of those. U of Washington is strong in those areas and the admission officers at many top b-schools are aware of that.

So…yeah. haha
