I gotta choose soon!!!!!!!!

pure poli sci is definitely princeton. Woody Woo is hard to beat...

Yeah, Princeton's woodrow wilson school is awesome.

This is the kind of opportunity that students can get (from an article that's a few days old):

both are great choices. id assume yale is a better choice for politicians, based on where presidential candidates have come from the last few years. (if you visit yale im sure youll notice how politically involved yalies are. when i visited there were protest flyers all over the place) lol I say this as someone who will probably be a member of the princeton university class of 2009. woodrow wilson IS pretty damn hard to beat, though. both places are damn good for politics, so i guess pick the environment that fits ur social needs better.

Thanks

Anybody else have an opinion on which polisci department is better?

I'm in the same situation. You can only study at WW for the last two years and it's not sure you'll get in.. but it's quite probable I guess.. they take in 90 people I think I read.. and it's mostly based on how much interest you show in politics and international affairs.

I'm currently inclining more towards Yale.. perhaps majoring EPnE (ethics, politics and economics.. you know .. ) .

WW seems like a very good option too though.

One question: Are there any big names coming out of WW ? cause for sure Yale has graduated some big shots in this field. You could say that it's as much a Yale strength as a Princeton strength?

I'm a prospective polisci (+philosophy) and I do think Yale is better (although it's a shade difference). WW is certainly strong, but Yale has a striking variety of polisci courses and truly exciting opportunities such as internships in the House of Lords, and, of course, the Fox Fellowship (very distinguished) for future international leaders (I would choose Cambridge for that one). I also have enormous respect the for polisci professors there. And, well, look at the graduates:) That being said, Princeton is wonderful for polisci as well. I think with those two it all comes down to your personal preference and "feel" for the school, as well as other factors you might consider (I love many things about Yale that I wouldn't trade for WW).

ahhhhhhhhhhhh! decisions, decisions !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not that hard to get into the WWS. Also, note that Princeton also has a Politics department, separate from Woody Woo, where you will find courses in political theory and on particular issues. Woody Woo students take some courses in that department, but their program is more policy-oriented. Both offer lots of opportunities for research and summer funding and for study abroad. The WWS's junior-year policy task force is required of all concentrators and may be in the U.S. or at Oxford, in South Africa, etc.

im in the same situation, tough decision - both are great

i have heard, however, for those would-be politicians, yale has the most politically active student body

true.......
