<p>Now that colleges are competing for you rather than you for them, what other schools are you considering besides Chicago?</p>

<p>Oh, hey, my D was accepted to Emory, UNC and some other fine schools. She is happily at Chicago.</p>

<p>Emory (and half considering Northwestern), but I've basically decided on Emory...</p>

<p>I'm deciding between UChicago, UPenn, Yale, and Columbia; also got into Emory, Northwestern, Dartmouth and a few others but I've pretty much ruled those out.</p>

<p>Chicago and Columbia have tons of similarities... I wouldn't be surprised if you quickly furthered your list down to those two... and then, you know, chose the UofC lol.</p>

<p>For some reason kids around here have been crossing Dartmouth off their lists as well. They are picking Schools like Rice and Northwestern over it after visiting. I don't know why, I typically recommend Dartmouth when asked.</p>

<p>Basically Chicago and Emory, pretty much decided on Chicago though.</p>

<p>My son was deciding between Reed and Chicago. He is flying back right now from 4 days @ Chicago, and called last night to say he had chosen Reed. He said that while he thought that "his people" were at Chicago, he hadn't found them yet, and he knew they were at Reed.</p>

<p>I am surprised by the number of students in this thread who applied to both Emory and Chicago. I wonder if this is well representative of the entire applicant pool at Chicago.. I sort of doubt it.</p>

<p>I've narrowed it down to Chicago and a full-ride at Maryland. Tough to call.</p>

<p>But I'm pretty set on going to Chicago.</p>
